Vice President Joe Biden told reporters on Wednesday that Obama could make an executive decision in an effort to stem gun violence in the country, adding that the exact plan is still unclear.
"The president is going to act. Executive orders, executive action, can be taken," Biden said. "We haven't decided what this is yet, but we're compiling it all with the help of the attorney general and all the rest of the Cabinet members."
However, Nugent opined, if Obama should overstep his powers, law-enforcement officials on a sub-federal level would defy the order.
"If it comes to the actual implementation of an actual confiscatory directive from our president, then I do believe that the heroes of the law enforcement will defy this order," Nugent theorized. "I do believe that there are enough soulless sheep within our government who would act on such an illegal order, but I believe the powers that be at the local, state and regional law enforcement would halt such an illegal, anti-American order."
Nugent also had a few choice words for the media, whom he accused of crafting a dishonest narrative after the Newtown shootings.
"There is a subculture, dare I say subhuman culture, infesting our government and society that would zone in on hardware and inanimate objects instead of people's conduct and the justice system's failure," Nugent fumed. "The media and the government is hell-bent on convincing that water is dry, and we should all reconsider our conclusions about the dampness of H20. These people are out of their liberal minds, and they scare Americans who are committed to logic, truth and common sense, and real solutions instead of the insanity that I witness from our government and media."
An outspoken conservative, Nugent has raised eyebrows and blood pressure among many with recent statements. Last month, Nugent penned an essay for the Washington Times, blaming the Newtown shootings on political correctness and the "anything goes" attitude and "spiritual bankruptcy" that he claimed has infected the nation.
He also blasted Bob Costas last month, after Costas advocated for gun control during a "Sunday Night Football" broadcast.
"We thought Bob Costas was smarter than that," Nugent wrote on his Twitter account. "Only fools blame tools instead of human failings. Shame, for shame Bob."
Nugent -- a vocal opponent of gun control and the Obama Administration, as most of us are -- made the comparison in reaction to reports that President Obama might issue an executive order, "There will come a time when the gun owners of America, the law-abiding gun owners of America, will be the Rosa Parks, and we will sit down on the front seat of the bus, case closed," Nugent told WND.
