The German government plans to launch its complete registry of legal gun owners at the beginning of next year, two years ahead of a deadline set by the European Union. As with many German authorities, those responsible for weapon licensing and tracking operated on a local basis - with a total of 551 authorities around the small country. There are an estimated 6 million licensed firearms in Germany. (260 million in USA) Interior Minister Friedrich told reporters in Berlin that the database would provide information, police would check to identify who owns weapons legally, across the entire country. (What about the illegally owned?) Under new European Union. laws, all member countries are obliged to compile a centralized register. In England, one year after pistols were banned, a Liverpool Police Officer was asked if the pistol ban had an effect on crime. He laughed when indicating that there had been a 300 percent increase due to a massive flow of illegal Eastern European guns. U.K. gun policies had failed, citing the government’s own figures showing that gun-related killings and injuries had risen more than 400 percent since the handgun ban. Criminals vastly outnumber police, reveling in the knowledge that violent crimes go unopposed by their victims and Law Enforcement personal are minutes away when all that’s needed are a few seconds. The key to freedom is the ability to defend yourself. Protect the 2nd Amendment to the United States Constitution.

That's just England and Germany and the EU. Now toss in the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty, idyllically drafted in an attempt at keeping arms out of the hands of terrorists and rogue regimes. If Mr. Obama signs the treaty and sends it to the Senate, do you think it will get the two-thirds majority required for ratification... In my opinion, the United States Constitution trumps international law, and the treaty will not affect domestic gun ownership. But it’s clear that many think otherwise. Tens of thousands of agitated firearm owners, 58 senators and esteemed colleagues opposed the treaty.
