I recently, well some time ago, purchased some "flacette" (spelling) rounds and it cost a bit....but from what I understand it is one of the best types of 12 gauge rounds when it comes to clearing out them there pests in the brush....I also have varying other types of rounds in 12 gauge.....but for now just wondering about the flacette.....thanks...

The Flechette 12 gauge ammo is loaded with darts. A Flechette is a small dart shaped projectile, which have fins and is made from steel. Very effective. This unique application of loading these Flechette darts into 12 gauge shells was widely used during the Vietnam conflict. Mostly for taking out VC snipers hiding in thick cover and trees. Due to the penetration of these projectiles, tree limbs and brush would not disperse the darts. Even if some were dispersed, this would still have an all-covering pattern within a tree or brush. This ammo is extremely deadly in the thickest of cover. Generally 25 to 30 of these darts are placed in each shell. I hope you never have to use them. However, good rounds to have if you do... General Chaindriven: I have found my old, Winchester, with the hammer. Model 1897. Made in 1900. Oct. 16 1900. Previous production date's on barrel, are. Nov. 25 '90, Dec 6 '92,Feb. 22 98,June 14 '98. I've had it for over 20 yrs. Never fired it. When i got it,some one had used a corregated hammer on slide bar,two small indents. Was going to mount it on wall. This is a well used firearm. 12 gauge, with mark that said ;FULL, 31.25 inchs .Stock in good shape. Hammer is not to my liking. Firered other hammer shotguns. OUCH. Thinking of ,having gunsmith. Clean it. I haven't seen it in ,over 10 yrs.

Lt Colonel Defehr,
10 years... Oil that scatter gun. That's an order Solider! I wipe down all firearms with an oiled cloth every six months. If I've touched it or not. The guns used weekly get a silicone cloth wipe down after a proper cleaning session.

I still have one flame thrower round, and five or six Centurion rounds left.

It's all legal, and safe to shoot from any scattergun.
