Auto is my choice. Has never failed me. Can't say yhe same for revolver's. From jamming under heavy use in desert. To removing empty's,during reloads. Have used Auto's,under harsh condition's. Wet,desert, fired hundred's of round's at one time. Without cleaning.

My understanding is, one of the tests for the 1911 was by dropping it into a box of sand. Evidently it passed the test.
Good post.

Clean firearm is your life. Always on a water, rest,or smoke break. First thing, clean your firearm's. Check mag.'s. Or have your head ringing, from squad leader. Heaven help you,if your Top seen a slacker. In rhe SeaBee batt.,we had a Marine in charge of military training. On inspection day. Chopper full of Marine's,Gunny's to Top's showed up for inspection. I never fail once, but my company did,so i did too. Was i MAD. Locked up in the Armory all day.Cleaning lazy chump's firearm's.

Big Grin,, i have enough cleaning to do after my youngest son. He will come grab a firearm, almost always my Moss. If my ammo is there to,its gone. Now that it is summer,i have to go out side to clean. If my old lady smells that Hoppe's 9,iam in trouble . I did get some Powder Blaster break free for this winter. Tested it on here without her not knowing it. Passed the test, she didn't whine about it..............................

That's really cool. I usually stand my ground. "It's my house, too!" "I pay the bills" But this past weekend, I tore that old Russian Nagente apart, cleaned, stripped, and cold blued; with good old Birchwood Casey! Not a word, and it took me two days to make it wall hanger worthy!

Gen. Chaindriven is right... revolvers are recommended for novice it just keep firing until its out of bullets unlike the mag fed, and without a regular maintenance?... tsk... jam on the barrel or jam on the clip..
