Chaindriven, I would be more than happy with the XD 9, if that was my choice. As I said, in my first post, my XD .40 is a fine gun, but my wife shoots it most of the time these days. Would I carry the XD? Without a doubt. After shooting it many times with not one malfunction, it has proven itself to me and anyone who wants my oppinion on the XD. Most have never seen the EMP .40, as they are not in your average gun shop show case, as there are still enough of us who are nuts enough to pay the price for a gun like that. But, as I said before I prefer the 1911 mode rather than the black gun style or models, but, it surely doesn't mean I don't care for the black guns.
As an NRA pistol instructor I always get the question, what would I recommend for a gun for the person asking the quesiton? I never put my own prejudice in the converstion, as much as it irritates the person asking the question. But, I always add that I will be glad to go the the gun shop, and help them find a gun that fits them. But, I would never put my own preference over what another person really needs for their protection. Anyone who has the gun that they love to carry and shoot, knows it was a long process coming to the conclusion that this is the ultimate gun for me.
Sorry for the long delay in posts, but as my old age I have had to go back to work, leaving me fewer hours to spend on my friend the computer. But, in order to keep ammo in my gun, that needed to be done. I am just glad that I have been blessed with a very good income to keep up my love of shooting. What is great is I can carry all day on my new job, as I am self employeed. No better way to go to work that working for yourself. Especially when you can make the funds that are required with out anyone else telling you what to do. What a great life!!!!
